8th Annual Get-together of Navi Mumbai Local Committee
Navi Mumbai: “I started my life in Mumbai from a low rung but a great institution like Kulala Sangha has provided me a great opportunity to render social service and got me acquainted with almost every one in Mumbai’s Tulu-Kannadiga circle. When my association was started with Kulala Sangha more than 5 decades ago, I never visualized in wildest dreams that one day, I would be honoured with the coveted and honourable position of its presidentship. For this, I would ever be grateful to the Sangha and its workers” – thus said P. K. Salian, the president of Kulala Sangha-Mumbai. He was speaking on the occasion of 8th annual get-together of Kulala Sangha’s Navi Mumbai local committee which he presided over. The event was held at Navi Mumbai Kannada Sangha Hall, Vashi on Sunday, 28-10-2012. He further added – “In olden days, members of the Sangha had only one occasion in a year to get-together and interact on the day of AGM. But with the formation of various local committees, now there are ample occasions for them to come closer for mutual inter-action on get-together days. The fact that local committees are relating to local issues positively and more intensely by taking care of interests of local members has given credence to the idea of formation of various local committees. None of us are eternal and we are not getting any younger. Hence, the present youth generation must come forward to take over the responsibility of taking the Sangha forward in future”.
