Mumbai: Arasina Kumkum programme of this year was performed by Mahila Vibhag of Kulala Sangha’s Churchgate-Dahisar Local region on 16-2-2013 at Sri Durga Matha Temple Hall in Goregaon (East, I. B. Patel Road. Mrs. Rajeshwari Nethrakere, Chairperson of Kulala Mahila Vibhag had presided over the function and the following office-bearers of various local Mahila Vibhags were present on the dais: Mrs. Sumathi S. Banjan (Chairperson of Thane-Karjat-Kasara-Bhiwandi Mahila Vibhag), Mrs. Malathi J. Anchan (Secretary, Navi Mumbai Mahila Vibhag), Mrs. Premalath R. Moolya (Chairperson, Churchgate-Dahisar Mahila Vibhag), Mrs. Rathna D. Kulal (Secretary, Churchgate-Dahisar Mahila Vibhag), Mrs. Shobha R. Moolya (Vice-chairperson, Churchgate-Dahisar Mahila Vibhag), Mrs. Sulochana Rs. Banjan (Treasurer, Churchgate-Dahisar Mahila Vibhag) and chief guest Mrs. Mohini J. Shetty (Wife of renowned advocate of the area Mr. Jagannath Shetty).. Initially, Bhajana Sankirtan was rendered by local Mahila Vibhag members followed by prayer by Mrs. Pramila B. Bangera, Mrs. Shanta Kulal, Mrs. Sharadaa baMgEra, Mrs. Jaya M. Moolya and Mrs. Jayashri H. Bangera. Thereafter, the proceedings were set in motion by lighting of lamp by Mrs. Rajeshwari Nethrakere and other d Dignitaries present on the dais. Mrs. Vijaya M. Bangera introduced the chief guest to the audience.
Mrs. Rajeshwari Nethrakere, speaking on the occasion, said that not only both Arasina and Kumkum have divine powers but they also have charactistics of medicines. She also invited the assembled the ladies to come forward with enthusiasm in large numbers to strengthen Kulala Sangha and its noble activities. Mrs. Malathi J. Anchan and Mrs. Kasturi M. Moolya spoke on the importance of Arasina and Kumkum in thelife of a married woman’s life and prayed for the well-being of all the womenfolk. Chief Guest Mrs. Mohini J. Shetty expressed her pleasure for having the opportunity to participate in the said celebration which is very important in the life of every married woman. On conclusion of stage programme, the assembled ladies exchanged Arasina, Kumkum and other gifts and pleasantries etc followed by indoor games organized for the gathering. Mrs. Rathna D. Kulala compered the proceedings and delivered vote of thanks.
