Educational Help Programme - Financial Assistance to students
“Kulala Sangha-Mumbai has always been encouraging the students to achieve greater laurels in educational field. In our hometown, Miss Akshatha Kulal, by scoring 98.56% in SSLC examinations of this year, has become a role model for our students. Our students in Mumbai region, must emulate her achievement and make all of us proud with their achievements. The Sangha has always responded positively to educational needs of our students” – said Mr. P. K. Salian, the president of Kulala Sangha-Mumbai.
He was speaking on the occasion of financial assistance distribution to the needy students of Mumbai region arranged by Kulala Sangha-Mumbai on Saturday, 30-June-2012 at Bai Kabhibai High School Hall, 26, Bora Bazar Street, Fort, Mumbai – 400001. In his presidential speech he also said – “To ensure that the students from our society are not deprived of good education, the Sangha has collected educational donations from generous donors for distributing financial aid to students. Please accept this token assistance as the blessings of Kulala Goddess. I request all the community brethren to come forward to make the Sangha a much stronger association”.
On the dais, Mr. P. Shekhar Moolya, Hon. Gen. Secretary, Mr. Karunakar B. Salian, Hon. Treasurer, Mr. Karunakar J. Moolya, Chairman Students Council, Mrs. Rajeshwari Nethrakere, Chairperson Mahila Ghatak (Ladies Wing) were present.
While briefing the activities of the Sangha, Mr. P. Shekhar Moolya said – “Kulala Sangha has been supporting the cause of education from the very beginning. Our younger generation must take active interest in all the activities of the Sangha. The parents must identify the specialized area of interest in their children and accordingly, must encourage them to proceed in the said chosen field of interest. Together with educational subjects, if students also develop interest in extra-curricular activities, it will help in shaping them a better person in life”.
In his speech, Mr. Karunakar J. Moolya said – “Whenever the children commit mistakes, the parents must take them into confidence, make them understand their mistakes and instill in them the habit of avoiding the recurrence of such mistakes. Then only, the children will evolve as good citizens. I wish good luck to all the students in their future careers”. He also requested the parents and guardians to get the children involved in all activities of the Sangha.
On this occasion, Mr. Girish B. Salian, Mr. Shankar Y. Moolya, Mr. Laxman C. Moolya, Mr. Raghu B. Moolya, Mr. B. Dinesh Kulal, Mr. K. Gopal Bangera, Dr. Suchitra H. Salian and Mrs. Rajeshwari Nethrakere spoke appropriately and gave valuable suggestions.
Mr. P. K. Salian distributed financial assistance to all the students and congratulated them. The renowned literary scholar, poetess, writer Dr. Sunitha Shetty was also present on the occasion. In the audience, Mr. Jaya S. Anchan, Mr. D. I. Moolya, Mr. Shashikumar V. Kulal, Mr. Jayaram K. Moolya, Dr. Harish B. Salian, Mr. Raghu Moolya P., Mr. Narayan Nethrakere, Mr. Chandrashekhar P. Uppian, Mr. Sheena M. Moolya, Mr. Sampat O. Salian, Mr. Umesh Bangera, Mr. Kusha Kulal, Mr. Dayanand Kulal, Mrs. Sumathi S. Banjan, Mrs. Mallika D. Kulal, Mrs. Chitra G. Moolya and several others were present.
Hon. Gen. Secretary, who compered the proceedings, expressed his gratitude to all donors and delivered vote of thanks. The function concluded with light refreshments.
