Formation of Churchgate – Dahisar Local Committee
Mumbai: “With the divine blessings of Sri Krishna, Almighty Lord of Universe, this preliminary meet of Churchgate - Dahisar local committee of Kulala Sangha has taken place in this Pejavar Mutt with the sole purpose of providing a platform to our community members spread over in this region. All community members must unite and come forward to work for the betterment of the Sangha and also, make this unit a strong one” – thus spoke Mr. P. K. Salian, President of Kulala Sangha-Mumbai during his presidential speech on the occasion of preliminary meet organised at Pejavar Mutt, Santacruz (E) on 22-7-2012 for the formation of “Churchgate-Dahisar” committee as 4th local committee of Kulala Sangha-Mumbai. “As per its charter, the Sangha had the intention of forming 5 local committees to make local community people become aware of parent body’s charitable activities, plans etc with more fruitful inter-actions. The ‘Churchgate-Dahisar’ committee is the 4th such committee in that objective direction. Plans are also underway to form the 5th committee for the region ‘Colaba – Mulund’. The Yuva generation of our community has already got itself actively involved in the activities of the Sangha which also has very good rapport with all other organizations”.
Vice-president Mr. P. Devadas L. Kulal in his formal speech stated – “Our Sangha was established to fulfill noble aims and objects for the benefit of our community. For this, we must be grateful to our ancestors. People who have worked selflessly to help Sangha’s cause, have come up tremendously in life and have been very successful. When we work together unitedly, the Sangha‘s stature grows. This confirms that good work always pays. In the last 33 years, I have accepted various posts in the Sangha and have discharged my duties to the best of my ability with devotion, sincerity and selflessness. We must all get rid of ourselves from any internal misunderstandings/squabbles and strive for the betterment of our community and set examples for others”.
Vice-chairman of Jyothi Co-op Credit Society, Mr. Girish B. Salian said – “Our people must come forward and avail the various financial facilities available at ‘Jyothi’ credit society. The formation of this new local committee will help the Sangha to respond positively to the expectations of community people of this area. I request all our brethren to participate in highest numbers in future activities of this committee”.
Editor of Kulala Sangha’s mouthpiece ‘Amoolya, Mr. Narayan Nethrakere said – “Kulala Sangha, started in a very humble way with the noble intention of uplifting our poor and downtrodden community, has now grown into a big tree with its branches spreading to the suburbs. This new committee is one such branch extending from Churchgate to Dahisar which amply ascertains the overall growth achieved by the Sangha over the years. Amoolya has always been publishing all the activities, plans and projects of the Sangha and also the activities of all Kulala Sanghas in our native place. All Kulala members must patronize Amoolya by way of advertisements, membership and also by way of contribution of articles, stories, poems etc and thus, become partners in all-round growth of Amoolya”.
“Navi Mumbai local committee had to overcome several hurdles initially to motivate the local community people and get them associated with the activities of the Sangha and local committee. But now the local kulala people do not hesitate to support the cause of the committee and the Sangha. They instantly and willingly get themselves associated with the Sangha in pursuit of fulfilling its noble activities. I am sure that 4th local committee which is poised to get launched today, will emerge as a stronger and efficient unit of the Sangha in the days to come” – said Mr. Raghu Moolya P., Chairman of Navi Mumbai local committee of Kulala Sangha.
“People should always come forward on their own, to donate generously for any good cause. Kulala Sangha indulges in many noble and good activities for the benefit of society. Hence we must help it in all respects. We should not hesitate to assist the Sangha in all its activities and donate generously to make its job easier” – said Mr. Sadanandkumar Salian, Chairman of Mira Road – Virar local committee.
Chairperson of Ladies Wing (Mahila Ghatak), Mrs. Rajeshwari Nethraklere speaking on this occasion, said – “It is a matter of immense pleasure for us to assemble here today preliminarily to form the new committee from Churchgate to Dahisar. All lady members of this area must take part in all the activities of this committee and thus, be instrumental in future progress of the Sangha”.
On the dais, Kulala Sangha’s Hon. Gen. Secretary Mr. P. Shekhar Moolya, Hon. Treasurer Mr. Karunakar B. Salian, Treasurer of Thane-Kalyan-Karjat-Bhiwandi local committee Mr. Shekhar I. Moolya were present. Initially, the function commenced with prayer by Mrs. Premalatha R. Moolya followed by lighting of lamp by Mr. P. K. Salian and other guests present on the dais. Mr. P. Shekhar Moolya welcomed the large gathering and briefed them with the various projects, plans and activities of the Sangha. He said – “To make it easier for the Sangha to reach out to community people spread over various parts of Mumbai Mahanagar and suburbs, the local committees are formed. The idea of forming 5th local committee for Colaba to Mulund area is also in the pipeline. Though Kulala Sangha came into existence under difficult conditions, it has grown into a big and stable organization with dedicated and selfless sacrifices by our elders”.
Mr. K. Gopal Bangera explained the necessity and the objects for forming this new committee. Encouraged by the success and immense contribution of 3 existing local committees towards the recent growth of the Sangha, we have felt the need to form 4th committee for Churchgate to Dahisar area which has a considerable population of kulalas. To create awareness and the feeling of oneness among themselves, formation of this committee will be pivotal”.
On this occasion, Kulala Sangha’s Hon. Joint. Secretary Mr. D. I. Moolya, Sub-editor of Amoolya Mr. Shankar Y. Moolya, Mr. Raghu Moolya Goregaon, DR. NIkesh N. Moolya, Chairman of Socio-Economic Committee Mr. B. Dinesh Kulal and Mr. Manoj Salian spoke and offered their valuable suggestions and advice. Mr. Karunaka B. Salian compered the proceedings of the function and Mr. K. Gopal Bangera delivered vote of thanks.
